Well it's been a while since our last blog. We have been so busy renovating the new cottage, which we are pleased to say is nearly finished. The bedroom is fantastic, really spacious and light and the bathroom is turning out better than we'd hoped with it's double ended 'his and hers' bath. We have had a few ups and downs but has been well worth the blood and sweat, and yes many many tears!! A real mix of weather has helped and hindered, a dusting of snow mean't we got the chance to try out the new multi fuel wood burning stove, lovely and toasty warm. Billy (our dog) just took everything in his stride, as usual. He loves 'helping' us and really enjoyed the sunshine we had a couple of weeks ago. The Moelwyn mountains look stunning all year round but there is something majestic about them when there is a dusting of snow on the peaks.

Things are moving along at the new cottage now, which by the way, we think is going to be named Bwthyn Ger Afon which means Riverplace Cottage. The upstairs bedroom has been gutted ready for a re-wire and some plastering work. It's going to be a really spacious bedroom with kingsize bed, lush soft furnishings and the fireplace will be fitted once it has been sand blasted and painted and brought back to it's former glory. We came by this fireplace last year and just knew it would come in handy one day!!

We are so excited about our newest cottage, we exchanged contracts and completed yesterday and are really looking forward to renovating the little place. It has been neglected over the years and needs quite a bit doing to it to get it up to the finish and standard we aim for with all our other cottages. As things move along we will, of course, keep you up to date with pictures etc. It's going to be a really beautiful 1 bed cottage by the time we have finished with it, and are really looking forward to doing the place up. Watch this space...............

The potted plant was left at Hen Aelwyd yr Urdd as a little thank you from Miss Cartwright, her 2nd visit, and the biscuits where left with a thank you card at Bwthyn Glan yr Afon. It's really nice to know that our guests really appreciate all our attention to detail and the little touches. Makes all our efforts and hardwork worth while.

Well I know it's only May but we have to think ahead!! Took delivery of next winter's logs yesterday. Some of our log stores are still taken up with last winter's logs so we have had to improvise and make good use of the greenhouse!! Should keep all our guests toasty and warm.

Went to Bwthyn Afon & Bwthyn Glan yr Afon yesterday evening, the sun was shining, it was lovely. Took these two pictures of the open countryside and river the cottages over look.
